LONG Buckby boss Glenn Botterill could be forgiven for thinking that Christmas has come early after his side’s incredible unbeaten winning run in the UCL Premier Division.

But Botterill knows only too well that the further the winning spree extends the more attractive it becomes for the oppostion to bring it to an end.

That said, he will be delighted his side have now equalled Daventry Town’s record of 15 consecutive wins in the UCL Premier Division.

Botterill believes that the secret of his side’s recent form is partly down to the attitude of everyone within the club who all know what their roles are.

He also praised the squad of players which he relies upon each week to produce the results on the pitch.

“These players are the best bunch of players I have ever worked with.

“They are such a close bunch. Our dressing room is absolutely fantastic.”

He said that the club had also had their share of luck during the season.

But Botterill will want his squad of players to put behind them their joy at the recent winning run and focus on Saturday’s FA Vase home showdown against Enfield 1893.

Botterill said that the visitors on Saturday were an impressive outfit and his side would need to put in a confident showing to stay in the competition.

“We have to be on our game otherwise we will get knocked out and that’s something I don’t want.”

He added: “On the day if we play well it will take a good side to beat us.”
