Wilder expecting to have fully fit Cobblers squad to pick from for York date

Lawson D’Ath has missed the past three games due to a groin strain picked up in the 2-1 win at Plymouth Argyle, while Alfie Potter hasn’t played since December 28 due to a rib injury.

But, with the team on a two-week break from playing due to Oxford United’s involvement in the FA Cup this weekend, both are expected to recover in time to be available to face Sky Bet League Two’s bottom team at Sixfields.

Potter was touch and go to play in last weekend’s clash with Morecambe, but was left out as a precaution, but with two further weeks’ rest he should be okay, and it’s a similar story with D’Ath.

“Lawson will be okay, and the break has come at a good time for him,” said Wilder when asked how long-term the winger’s injury is expected to be.

“The next game is the York game at home, so he will definitely be ready by then.

“With everybody coming through the game on Saturday, we are hopeful we will have everybody available for the York game, apart from Paul Corry who is the only long-term injury we have.”

The Cobblers played a behind-closed-doors friendly at Stevenage on Tuesday afternoon, and a strong side won 3-0 thanks to goals from Lee Martin, Sam Hoskins and Nicky Adams.

Town had been planning to take on a Watford XI later this week, but that was cancelled and the trip to Stevenage was arranged instead.
