RUGBY Town Youth travelled to the Black Country to meet Halesowen Youth for the second game of the season.
On a dry, uneven pitch football was never likely to be the winner and the direct style of Halesowen was proving far more effective.
The Rugby goal enjoyed a charmed life – thanks to a superb goalkeeping display by James Brougham.
As half-time approached Rugby finally managed to put a quality move together which ended with Lee Gibson grabbing his third of the season with a fine header.
During the second-half Rugby started to press home their advantage.
They doubled their lead after 70 minutes when Ryan Ansell pounced on a through ball and finished calmly with a fine lob over the keeper to give two straight wins for Rugby.
