Delapre Dragons Dazzlers 2 Daventry Town Vikings 2

THIS mid-table clash between the Daventry Town Vikings and the Delapre Dragons Dazzlers ended in a 2-2 draw.

The first half of the match was dominated by the Vikings who made hay while the sun shined, taking the lead early on when Sam Collins poked the ball home after the Dazzlers’ goalkeeper fumbled the ball.

Despite a period of domination the Vikings were unable to capitalise until early on in the second- half when Sam Collins netted once more making it a brace of goals for him in the match.

The Dazzlers came back at the Vikings late on scoring twice before the end. Man of the match was Sam Collins.

Flore 1

Both teams started well with end-to-end football. Drayton peppered Flore’s goalmouth, but did not put their chances away.

Drayton played good attacking football with excellent team work, making Flore work hard.

Drayton had the edge in the second-half but a deflection in the last few seconds saw Flore seal the game.

Bilton Ajax U11s 0

The game was a well spectated match with about 50 people and the teams certainly played to the crowds. The opening goal was a goalmouth scramble with Ed Moyes nipping in to slot his first of four good goals.

Thomas Clements bagged his hat-trick before half-time and Blaine Chatwin got the sixth just before the half-time whistle.

James Davey scored his first for the club with a cracker from the penalty area from a well-taken corner.

Callum Blackmore also scored his first for the club with a nice lob over the keeper. Brandon Holmes rounded it off to 12 well-taken goals. Mathew, Aiden and Alex all had a good game. Man of the match went to James Davey.

Daventry Town Saxons U10s 1

Parklands Tigers Amber 1

A very entertaining game saw Saxons get off the mark first with a close-range strike from Hugo Caldeira. Parklands equalised five minutes after the break.

Both teams tried hard to get the winner but with man of match Callum Witherington popping up everywhere to clear the danger the game ended 1-1.

Long Buckby Juniors U13s 8

Daventry Town Danes 1

Within minutes Danes took a shock lead. Buckby were soon back in the game following a weaving run by Fletcher. Halford made it two before a 20-yard scorcher from Randell settled Buckby.

Once into a comfortable lead, Buckby began to pass more fluently. McTeggart headed in from a corner, Stafferton lofted in over a massed defence and a mazy run from Bateman made it six before netting his second.

Fletcher immediately finished the scoring before Sadler hit the bar.

Drayton Grange U16s Colts 3

Phoenix Rangers 2

Phoenix Rangers were the better team in a tough first-half, scoring twice, although Chris Berrevoets got one back. The second-half was better for Colts.

Jack Sherlock brilliantly converted a penalty to bring the game level and then set up Chris Berrevoets to score the winner.

Outstanding defensive performances came from Jack Hogben and man of the match Sam Hulme.

Weedon Juniors U8s 0

Long Buckby 0

This was a close game where both team had chances in front of goal that they did not convert.

A solid defensive display from both sides resulted in a goal-less draw. The game was played in good spirit.

D Grange Blades U10s 1

Moulton Magpies Black 3

Both teams played well with end-to-end football.

Moulton broke the deadlock with an early goal. Drayton got the equaliser before half-time from Finley Purnell.

Both teams continued to play good football but Moulton managed to take the win. Sam Eccles got the Blades’ man of the match.

Welland Valley 3

The game started with end-to-end football with Welland taking their chances they scored a goal to make it 1-0. Daventry had a few attempts at goal but Welland Valley’s goalkeeper made several good saves.

In the second-half Welland adding two more with Daventry not getting the tackles in with it ending 3-0. Man of the match went to Ben.

Drayton Grange All Stars U11s 7

Woodford United 0

Woodford had the majority of the first half possession but failed to create clear-cut openings and the All Stars hit them with two goals on the break.

In the second half Drayton had the best of the possession and created numerous chances, netting five more to take the win, including a hat-trick for Ethan Hart.

Man of the match was Ben Robinson.

Drayton Grange Colts U10s 2

Bugbrooke Blue 2

A great squad performance from the Colts, who all played their part in this entertaining match.

Bugbrooke scored first with a neat finish. Colts kept pressing and had chances to equalise but ended one down at half-time.

In the second-half, Colts equalised through a man of the match George Iacovides’ penalty. Both teams went for the win and Blues struck again with a deflected shot.

Colts were not to be denied and Tom Podniesinski popped up at the back post to knock in the second equaliser to end the match 2-2.
