NIGHTMARE MOMENT - Peterborough's last-gasp winner hits the net on Saturday

Cobblers boss Rob Page understands how upset the club's supporters are following Saturday's heartbreaking 1-0 derby defeat to Peterborough United at Sixfields, but believes they also appreciate the fine margins between triumph and supposed disaster.

The Town manager was left a frustrated man following the clash with Posh, with the visitors nicking all three points when Chris Forrester took advantage of hesitancy in the Cobblers defence to head home the winner 90 seconds into two minutes of time added on at the end of the game.

What should have been a creditable draw and honours even instead saw the delirious 1,400 travelling fans revelling in claiming a dramatic derby double, while the shell-shocked Cobblers fans headed for the exits, bemoaning another late collapse from their team.

The Cobblers are quickly back in Sky Bet League One action at fourth-placed Bradford City on Tuesday night (ko 7.45pm), and Page is already looking forward rather than backwards.

“The fans are hurting because it’s a local derby, like we all are, nobody likes losing games,” said the Cobblers boss.

“I think the supporters on Saturday know we were 30 seconds away from the game finishing and keeping a clean sheet and getting a point.

“It wouldn’t have been great because we want to win at home, of course we do, but 30 seconds later we concede a goal and everybody walks away bitterly disappointed, talking about the defeat.

“It is fine margins and we have to go and put that right on Tuesday.

“There are still a load of games left this season, loads of points to play for, and it now starts again at Bradford on Tuesday.”
