The big striker switch Stadium MK for Northampton in the summer, having been one of the Buckinghamshire club’s better performers in their unsuccessful battle against relegation from the championship last season.

He gets a swift chance to put one over on his former employers in front of the Sky Sports cameras this weekend, and Page is in no doubt that the Dons defenders are going to be in for a difficult 90 minutes at Sixfields.

“Revs is Revs, and you know exactly what you are going to get from him,” said the Town manager.

“I don’t care who he is playing against, what level he is playing against, you know that you can guarantee he is going to give you absolutely 110 per cent.

“That won’t be any different on Sunday.

“He was fired up against Charlton and got a goal, he will be fired up on Sunday, and we know that if we give him quality into the box then he is a threat at any level.

“By bringing Paul Anderson in we will add to that quality into the box, and Revs will be fired up and raring to go.”

New signing Anderson is set to make his first start for the club, while the Cobblers will be without midfielder John-Joe O’Toole through suspension, and also central defender Gaby Zakuani, who is on international duty with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Forwards Sam Hoskins and Marc Richards are both available after recovering from injury and illness respectively, and midfielder Alfie Potter is also fit after missing the past two games.

Dons for their part will be without central defender Scott Wootton who suffered a cruciate ligament knee injury in their Checkatrade Trophy draw with Barnet on Tuesday night.

Deadline day signing from Wigan Athletic, midfielder Ryan Colclough, will feature, while the club’s record signing, striker Kieran Agard, is set to be on the bench having not played since mid-August due to injury.
