Olympic set pace

OLYMPIC Daventry are leading the way in the Soccer Sevens League.

They came back to win 2-1 after a fierce long-range strike had put Inter A a goal up. Gos Rafal and Mariusz Sawoski scored the match winning goals.

Davcelona came out on top against Newnham FC with a 4-1 victory.

Luke Ireland led the way with a well-taken treble and Sam Burke was also on target.Chris Brown had earlier given Newnham the lead.

LMS put in a fine performance against Inter B winning 4-1. Mike Shaddix, Rich Rogers, Matt Smith and Jordan Shingler were all on target for LMS.

Jamie Sumpter hit a late consolation goal for Inter.

Soccer Sevens are running a new indoor five-a-side league on Thursday evenings at Daventry William Parker school.
