Town head to stadium:mk on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off) without left-back Joe Widdowson (hamstring) and Ian Morris (groin), who are also only rated as 50-50 chances for the league game against Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Roy O’Donovan is suspended after being sent off at the weekend, freeing up a space in the forward line that could be taken by Ivan Toney, with whom the club are currently holding talks over a professional contract.

Clive Platt is likely to remain in the starting line-up to build his fitness after a spell out of the team with a calf injury.

The Cobblers have already played MK Dons this season - losing 2-1 at home in the first round of the Capital One Cup in August.
