Northampton Town boss Boothroyd nominated for manager of month award

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd has been named on the shortlist for the npower League 2 Manager of the Month for February.

The winner will be announced on Friday, March 15, with the final decision made by a Football League judging panel.

Also nominated for the award are Rotherham United’s Steve Evans and Burton Albion’s Gary Rowett.

In February, the Cobblers played six matches, winning four, losing one and drawing one to claim 13 points. They scored nine goals and conceded six.

Rotherham and Burton also amassed 13 points in the month, with the Millers’ record being identical to the Cobblers in terms of results, although they scored 10 and conceded five.

Burton were actually unbeaten in February, but played only five games, winning four and drawing one,

The Brewers were comfortably the most prolific in front of goal though, scoring 14 times while conceding five.

The judging panel consists of former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Football League chief operating officer Andy Williamson, League Managers Association deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and Katy Thomas, npower partnerships and sponsorships manager.
