De Girolamo available for Cobblers duty after Italy outing

Diego De Girolamo will return from international duty in time to play for the Cobblers against Luton Town on Saturday.

ITALIAN JOB - the Cobblers' on-loan Sheffield United forward Diego De Girolamo will play for Italy under-20s this week

The on-loan Sheffield United forward has joined up with the Italy under-20s squad this week but is scheduled to return to training in time to be selected for the visit of the Hatters to Sixfields.

De Girolamo is currently with the Italian squad for their game against Switzerland in the northern town of Lecco on Thursday.

The match is part of a four-team tournament which also includes representative teams from Germany and Poland.

The 19-year-old played 81 minutes on his Northampton debut at Bury last Saturday, setting up Ricky Holmes’ goal in the 2-1 loss.
