Cobblers re-sign Leicester City midfielder Ryan Watson in loan deal

The 22-year-old, who was on loan at Sixfields last season until a serious knee injury cut short his stay, will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Plymouth Argyle at Sixfields.

Watson impressed while making five appearances for Town at the beginning of last season, until he suffered a cruciate ligament injury to his right knee at the beginning of October, and returned to Leicester.

He spent eight months on the sidelines before returning to action in the Foxes’ Under-21 team, and he has successfully completed a full pre-season programme.

The Crewe-born player will be with the Cobblers until January 1, and is in line to replace the suspended Jason Taylor in the centre of midfield this weekend.
