The forward played the final 30 minutes of the 2-0 defeat at Plymouth on Saturday after coming on as a second-half substitute for Lawson D’Ath.

It was only Bodin’s third appearance since signing on a free transfer in January but he is confident he is getting fitter and sharper, and will soon be able to have more of a bearing on games.

“I think we dominated most of the game, especially in the second half,” said Bodin, who will be given even more time to sharpen up with a run-out for the reserves on Tuesday. “We did pretty well and if we’d had another five or 10 minutes we might have got a goal or two.

“It’s disappointing because of the run that we’ve been on and how well we’ve playing but we move on and focus on the next game.

“When I first came in I wasn’t quite match fit and I felt a bit sluggish in the Accrington game but since then I’ve been working hard to get my fitness up.

“I felt good on Saturday and it was just a shame about the result. I thought my shot was going in and there was one at the end I should have scored.

“The result is more important though and I’m here to help the team improve results.”
