Northampton Town to take on Foxes in pre-season friendly at Sixfields

The Cobblers have announced they will play a pre-season friendly against npower Championship side Leicester City at Sixfields in July.

The Foxes were beaten play-off semi-finalists ealier this month, and Nigel Pearson’s men will come to town on Tuesday, July 30 (ko 7.45pm).

Ticket details for the game will be announced in due course.

It is likely to be the Cobblers’ final pre-season workout, as the npower League Two season starts on August 3.

The Cobblers have also confirmed they will take on town UCL side Sileby Rangers in a pre-season match.

Sileby, who won UCL Division One last season and will be playing in the premier division next term, will host the Cobblers at their Fernie Fields ground in Moulton on Saturday, July 13.

Kick-off in that one will be 3pm.

The Cobblers have already announced they will play another UCL Premier Division side in Cogenhoe United on Tuesday, July 16 (ko 7.45pm).
