Long Buckby have completed the signing of experienced striker Howard Forinton.
The 38-year-old has moved to Station Road following a spell at Bedworth and is reunited with Phil Mason, who was his boss at Woodford United.
Forinton has a wealth of Football League experience, having played for the likes of Birmingham City and Peterborough United.
And Mason believes the front man will help his side’s youngsters in their UCL Premier Division campaign.
“Howard’s come in and that’ll be good for us,” said Mason. “His influence will rub off on everyone.
“He’s played in the Football League and we look forward to having him onboard, helping the club’s youngsters.”
Buckby travel to Sleaford Town in the league on Saturday, hoping to build on last weekend’s second-half showing, when they recovered from 4-1 down to draw 4-4 with S&L Corby.
And Mason said: “It was great to come back from 4-1 down but we were 1-0 up after half an hour and just had seven or eight minutes where we let in four.
“I changed the system and the players knew I wasn’t happy, but it was a great response.
“We’ve got Sleaford this weekend and we need to got there and try not to concede.”
