Daventry Town U12 Vikings 5 Wooldale 2

VIKINGS took full advantage of Wooldale netting twice in the first 10 minutes. Max Streeter opened the scoring with a well-taken goal. Captain Jack Goodman added a brace to signal his return to form. Sam Flockhart finished the job with two cheeky toe pokes to pile on the misery for the visitors.

Bradley Osborne Wells took man of the match for his creativity in midfield.

Thorplands 1 Drayton Grange Panthers U16s 6

Panthers produced another fine team performance. Logan Roberts opened the scoring from the penalty spot and Kyle Gibson added the second with a mazy run past two defenders and calmly slotted the ball into the net. Thorplands scored late in the first-half.

Goal of the game came straight from the kick off with four accurate passes, ending with Josh Hyams curling the ball into the bottom corner. Jack Collins scored two quick goals, the best a left-foot volley and Logan Roberts completed the scoring with a 30-yard effort.

There were many good performances but Man of the Match went to Jordan Shingler who had to play in numerous positions all game and Kyle Gibson who had an excellent game.

Daventry Town Saxons U10s 6

Falcons Stripes 0

The Saxons led 1-0 at half time after a cross from Tom Brown was finished by George Price. Tom scored direct from a corner for 2-0 and rounded the keeper to double his tally shortly after.

Callum Prentice went forward to score from long range and George added his second rounding the keeper. Callum capped a superb team display lobbing the sixth from 30 yards.

Drayton Grange Diamonds U15s 1 Gregory Celtic Whites 1

Diamonds set out to mix it up in what was always going to be a tough, physical game. End-to-end throughout and the breakthrough only came five minutes from the end, with Gregory capitalising on a rare Diamonds mistake, to scramble the opening goal. Three minutes later Diamonds were awarded a disputed penalty, converted by Jack Hogben, for a well-deserved draw. Stephen Dwyer was Man of the Match.

Daventry Town Vikings U10s 0 Soccer Stars 4

Daventry Town Vikings started off strongly but did not sustain the pace they started with. The score was 2-0 at half-time to the away team. Jack Ramsden and Alex, Aidan and James were good in defence. Daventry had good chances but did not take them.

Man of the Match went to Alex Osborne for his great defending.

Long Buckby U10s 1

West Haddon Warriors 2

In difficult wet conditions Warriors took the lead against the run of play thanks to a long-range free kick, that Tom Gooch was unable to get his fingers to.

This was followed by a breakaway goal after a period of Buckby pressure. Buckby got one back two minutes before half-time with Kieran Mitchell shooting from the edge of the penalty area.

It was a competitive second-half with both sides having chances to score again. Daniels, Oddy and Dorran played well for the Bucks, but Joe Murdoch who played in goal in the second-half was Buckby’s Man of the Match.

Long Buckby U12s 3

Moulton Magpies 3

This closely-fought match saw Moulton take the lead on three occasions, but each time Long Buckby fought back with equalising goals from Caley McTeggart, Callum Fletcher and Ryan Britten.

Man of the Match went to Ryan Britten for his commitment and work rate in midfield but all the players deserve praise for a battling performance.

Long Buckby U11s 4 Hackleton Harriers 2

Buckby got into the game quickly with a goal from Alfie. With good passing and tackling the score was 3-1 at half-time which included a superb goal from Owen. Indiscipline at the back let Hackleton back in the game. But Harry E scored a good lobbed goal to make it 4-2 to the Bucks in another good team performance. Man of the Match went to Alfie.

Daventry Town U11s 2

Billing United Red 1

Daventry started the game with good passing putting Billing under pressure and forcing their goalie into make good saves. Billing came back into the game but Daventry’s defence did well and kept them out.

Billing got an early goal with a good header in the box, 1-0.

In the second half Daventry had a couple of attempts at goal but could not get past Billing’s keeper.

With 10 minutes to go a good header from Charlie made it 1-1 to go into extra time.

Billing looked tired but kept going and were still trying to get a goal but Daventry’s defence stood strong. Daventry won a corner kick from which Charlie scored making it 2-1 in extra time.

Man of the Match went to the whole team.
