Holman strike wins it

A SOLITARY goal was enough for Long Buckby to bag all three points in their Premier Division home match against Holbeach United.

And it was left to ever-reliable Dan Holman (pictured) to win the day with the only goal of the game on the half-hour.

The breakthrough came when Holman got away from his markers in the centre of the pitch.

He then took flight beating off the challenge of the Holbeach centre-half and taking the ball round the keeper Lovelace to find the back of the net to the delight of the Buckby faithful.

Buckby never looked like dropping any points with man of the match Dan Quigley marshalling the Buckby defence.

This victory puts the Bucks within one point of third-placed Newport Pagnell.

Now Buckby will face a run of away games over the next couple of weeks including away games at Yaxley and Deeping on the next two Saturdays.
