Kenji Gorre scored a hat-trick as a Cobblers reserve team came back from 2-0 to win 5-4 in a friendly at Stevenage.
Joel Byrom and Lawson D’Ath also found the target as Town claimed victory in a performance that pleased assistant boss Paul Wilkinson.
“It was an entertaining game and a really good work out for us,” said Wilkinson..
“We went 2-0 down but responded really well and the tempo of the game was good throughout.
“It was a really end to end game with a lot of counter-attacking from both sides.
“We were down on centre halves, so we had two of the youth team midfielders playing at the back - it was a tough day for them but a good learning curve.
“Raheem Hanley came through half an hour which was good for him and we got some game time into the players who haven’t been involved as much recently.”
Stevenage’s scorers were Rowan Liburd (2), Steve Schumacher and Ben Wilmot.
