COMBINATION FOOTBALL: Weedon enhance promotion chances as they see off Medbourne

Weedon maintained their promotion hopes in division one of the Northants Combination with a resounding 4-0 win over Medbourne.

Ashley Brown, Leon Edwards, Matthew Gernon and Daniel Weekes scored the goals, and Weedon are now fifth, just four points behind leaders Clipston, with three games in hand.

In the same division, Nic Tomes scored for West Haddon Reserves, but they lost 2-1 at Finedon Volta.

Elsewhere, West Haddon Albion first team were beaten 4-1 by Spratton in the League Two KO Cup, despite a goal from Jack Scally, and Weedon Reserves were beaten 4-3 in their reserve division one match at Spratton.
