Cobblers set to sign Championship defender on loan
Town had hoped to bring the player in before Saturday, when Fleetwood Town will be the visitors at Sixfields in the opening game of the Sky Bet League One season.
But the defender’s parent club have been unable to draft in a replacement and will require him for their match this weekend.

Hide AdThomas has confirmed the new man, who has a wealth of experience at international level, has been training with the club recently.
And he is looking forward to seeing him join the Cobblers on a season-long loan at the start of next week.
“We’ve got an agreement in place but it looks like he may be required for them on Saturday so the plan is that he joins us on Monday,” Thomas said.
“He has trained with us and we’re very pleaed with the signing.
“It will be a loan for the year and hopefully all goes to plan and he will be in with us on Monday.”
