Cobblers Reserves prove too hot for Posh to handle
The match was played at Sileby Rangers’ Fernie Fields ground, and the Cobblers claimed victory after a flying start that saw them ease into a 3-0 lead inside the opening 36 minutes.

Hide AdAfter Posh had started well and hit the post early on, Paul Anderson and Emmanuel Sonupe were both on target in the opening 12 minutes, before a third strike before the break ended the match as a contest.
Justin Edinburgh used the game to give players who haven’t been heavily involved in the first team recently some game time.
David Cornell lined up in goal, and there were also starts for Brendan Moloney, Neal Eardley, Rod McDonald, Paul Anderson, Raheem Hanley, Hiram Boateng, Keshi Anderson, Harry Beautyman and Sonupe.

Hide AdMoloney continued his return to full fitness with 77 minutes of action before being withdrawn, while academy striker Lewis Irwin was one of the players to come on later in the game, and also made a scoring mark but headed a Boateng corner wide.
