Bucks move to top spot in league

LONG Buckby beat Wellingborough Town 3-0 on Tuesday night to claim their place at the top of the Premier Division.

Greg Ling opened Buckby’s account after five minutes and Fazel Koriya added another just before half-time. Russ Dunkley completed the scoring late in the game.

On the same night, the Motormen drew 2-2 with Cogenhoe away from home after going into an early lead from Will Briscoe.

But Perri Wells headed an equaliser minutes later.

The Daventry side almost levelled early in the second-half when Briscoe’s free kick picked out Adam Knight but nothing came of the attacking move.

Tom Lorraine also missed a good opportunity at a time of increased pressure while Ian Waldock’s long-range shot failed to find the target.

Gearing put Cogenhoe into a lead but a goal in time added from Tommy Waldock saw the visitors grab a share of the points.
