TOP-FORM Long Buckby kept up their superb winning tally with another success at the weekend.
But the 2-0 win away to Sleaford Town saw the Bucks have to pull out all the stops.
Kicking against a strong breeze the Station Road outfit won the battle in midfield led by the admirable Dan Quigley.
It was 12 minutes before the Bucks had their first strike on goal via a Greg Ling overhead kick. A header from Quigley followed minutes later. Ollie Wilkinson blocked a shot from Sleaford’s Tunstall on 22 minutes and the score remained goal-less at the interval.
With the wind at their backs the Bucks were mostly camped in Sleaford’s half of the field in the second-half.
Rob Foster broke the deadlock on 47 minutes when he fired into the top corner.
Tom Stephanou made a smart save from 18 yards before Rob Foster increased Buck’s lead on 61 minutes.
Sleaford’s Bolland received his marching orders for a tackle on Craig Kelly on 66 minutes.
Kelly was withdrawn and Buckby manager Glenn Botterill sent on David Glass and Ashley Eales (for Koriya).
But although the Bucks increased the pressure they were unable to increase their goal tally.
Matt Green had to play out the final minutes after Rob Foster twisted his ankle.
