Skipper Chris Park inspired Saints to a welcome three-wicket win over title hopefuls Wollaston in the premier division

Saints have endured a miserable run of results, but captain Park led from the front as his side claimed a win at Birchfield Road East.

Chasing Wollaston’s 227 for nine, Park opened the batting and scored 102 from 93 balls, and thanks to supporting efforts from Jack Johnson (25), Josh Turner (20) and Neil Stanley (20no), Saints got home.

Earlier, Mark Wolstenholme had claimed five for 33 as Wollaston set a decent target, Stanley taking two for 60.

Brixworth earned an excellent draw against leaders Finedon Dolben.

Fred Newborough was the pick of the bowlers as Brixworth restricted the top dogs for 204 for nine in their 55 overs, with Alex Lacey taking three for 60. Jack Chopping led the scoring for Finedon with 55.

In reply, Brixworth sturggled against the bowling of Tom Brett (6-33), but Tom Worthington with 42, Chris Richmond with an unbeaten 27 and Newborough with 25 ensured their team reached safety on 155 for eight.

Inconsistent Old Northamptonians will have been frustrated as they lost by six wickets to Rushton at Billing Road.

Jordan Capel top scored with 35 as ONs were bowled out for just 149, and Rushton then eased to 151 for four, despite the efforts of Richard Kaufman, who claimed two for 39 from 11 overs.

Horton House remain in trouble at the wrong end of the table, but it was happy days for Richard Cunningham as he inspired Oundle to a six-wicket success.

Cunningham returned figures seven for 37 as Horton were all out for 149 with number nine Will Smith giving them a ray of hope with an unbeaten 43, while Charlie MacDonnell had earlier made 33.

Nothing fishy occurred in the run chase for Oundle as Harry Ramsden battered 76 and Rick Andrew made 46 to get their side to 150 for four in the 34th over.

Wellingborough Town slipped to a five-wicket defeat to Stony Stratford at Campbell Park.

Batting first, Borough reached 207 for nine in their 55 overs with Drew Brierley making 101. Pick of the Stony bowlers were Tyler Lorton with three for 30 and Russell White who claimed two for 30.

Stony reached their as they eased to 208 for five with more than three overs to spare.

Main men with the bat were Nick Allen (67), Tyler Lorton (36) and Vicram Sohal (46).

Second-placed Peterborough declared on 251 for five after 50 overs with Asim Butt smashing a superb 134 from 141 balls, before bowling out Burton Latimer for 101 - Haydan Morton making 65 of those. Joe Dawborn and Rob Sayer both picked up four wickets.
