NCL ROUND-UP: Carter and Ruff steer Horton to win number five

Brixworth did well to recover from 48 for five and 102 for six, to post 165 all out, with Paul Blakemore making 51 and Alex Lacey 50.

For Horton, Charlie MacDonnell claimed four for 59 and Andrew Neate three for 53.

In reply, Horton were in deep trouble as they slumped to 44 for four, but Leo Carter scored 60 and Elliott Ruff 53 not out as Horton made 166 for six.

Saints’ early-season woes seem to be behind them as they claimed a second win in a row, this time against rock-bottom Burton Latimer.

Burton were rolled out for just 63 by Ali Hasnain (5-25), Corbyn Dolley (3-12) and Chris Harris (2-6).

Saints then coasted to 64-2 with Ryan Turner making 23.

Leaders Rushden were well beaten by a Rob White-inspired Old Northamptonians.

White first hit 80 in ONs’ 209 for six, with Zaakir Khawaja adding 55 and George Arblaster 32 not out.

White then bagged four for 24 as Rushden slumped to 102 all out, despite 53 from Mikey Phillips.

David Wigley was also in the wickets taking three for 43, and Aiden Fowkes claimed two for 11.

Champions Peterborough are in second place after they inflicted a third loss of the campaign on Finedon Dolben.

Having been bowled out for 186 (Ben Howgego 41, Greg Evans 45), Finedon were unable to contain their opponents who reached their target with five wickets in hand.

England Under-19s star Rob Sayer was the man who set up the victory only to fall two short of his century.

Rushton completed a demolition job on strugglers Wollaston.

Ben Mansell smacked 130 as the Station Road men raced to 243 for four declared in 37.2 overs.

Mansell reached his 50 in 41 balls and his hundred came up from just 86 deliveries. Andy Reynoldson helped out with 62.

It was then left to the bowlers to complete the job with Marc Jackson’s impressive 9-5-13-4 leading the way.

Wollaston were all out for 87 which could have been a whole lot worse were it not for a defiant 21 not out from 66 balls by Mark Carter as they recovered slightly from 47 for eight.

Oundle sit in mid-table after getting the better of Stony Stratford.

The Buckinghamshire hosts were dismissed for 86 - a score Oundle reached for the loss of five men.
