“There is some real potential there and next season will be a big one for him.”
Having spent the last year on the sidelines with stress fractures in his shins, the winter’s activities, which will include training at Loughborough and a trip to Sri Lanka next Easter, present a big opportunity for Taylor and Innes hopes that he makes the most of it.
He added: “They (the England set-up) have been keeping tabs on him since he was 15 and it’s good to see that even thougb he has missed a lot of cricket recently they’re keeping him involved in the programme.
“If he can show what he can do at that level then it will stand him in good stead for next season when we’ll be looking to get him involved in the Second XI.”
