Northamptonshire were due to start their penultimate LV= County Championship game of the season at Chester-le-Street today.
But bad light kept them off the pitch all day with brief hopes of getting some play at 4pm ended when it got too dark again.
The teams will try again tomorrow in what will now be a three-day game.
