Northamptonshire wrapped up a 159-run win over Durham MCCU on the final day of their trip to The Racecourse.

The students put in another dogged effort - as they had done in their first innings - but could not hold out and were finally dismissed for 194.

The most unfortunate man of the day was Chaitanya Bishnoi whose 174-ball vigil was ended with him one short of deserved hundred.

Graeme White was the most successful of the County bowlers taking 4-42 while trialist Chad Barrett chipped in with 3-51.

Northamptonshire had earlier declared overnight on 149-6 - with teenager Saif Zaib unbeaten on 54 - leaving Durham an unlikely 354 to win.

David Ripley’s men return to County Championship action on Sunday when they head to Trent Bridge for a clash with Nottinghamshire.
