A PLANNING appeal into wind turbines near Watford village is drawing to a close.
Developer Volkswind is hoping to build five 125-metre turbines on land at Watford Lodge, between Watford, Crick and West Haddon, but Daventry District Council (DDC) refused planning permission in April.
That led to an appeal from Volkswind which is currently being heard at the DDC offices on Lodge Road.
At the appeal DDC said the development would impact on the nearby Watford Park and its designated ancient monument.
The planning appeal also heard that people living in West Haddon would be able to ‘see glimpses’ of the turbines from various parts of the village.
Closing remarks are expected to be heard today (Tuesday, November 8), with a result not due for several weeks.
