THERE was strong support shown for plans to improve a town skate park during a consultation event on Saturday.
The Daventry District and South Northamptonshire Community Safety Partnership is looking at improving the current skate park in Daventry’s New Street Recreation Ground by either increasing its size or improving its facilities.
People were invited to give their thoughts and comment on the idea at the weekend,
Kevin Fagan, community partnerships manager, said: “We had a good response to the skate park consultation on Saturday and over 200 questionnaires were filled in by people of all ages.
“Initial findings indicate strong support for the skate park to be made larger or refurbished.
“But we will publish details of the results in due course.”
Councillor Chris Over, economic, employment and regeneration portfolio holder at Daventry District Council, said: “Skateboarding remains a popular pastime with our young citizens. However, to give a further boost to this activity some additional investment is called for.”
