Met Office yellow alert for storms heading for Northamptonshire on Saturday
Met Office forecasters have warned parts of Northamptonshire to be braced for storms on Saturday afternoon.
A yellow weather alert is in force for the whole county until midnight tonight — exactly 12 months to the day when the county sizzled in record-breaking heat.

Hide AdA MetOffice spokesman said: "During Saturday afternoon bands of thunderstorms are expected to develop over central England and gradually move eastwards during the rest of the day.
"These will bring heavy rain with 20mm possible in an hour in some locations and a chance of 30-40mm in a couple of hours
"While many places will miss the heaviest showers, bands of thunderstorms will likely bring some disruption with driving conditions affected by spray and standing water."
