WaterSpace plans for Daventry move a step closer.

A PLANNING application has been submitted for the controversial WaterSpace development in Daventry.

Daventry District Council (DDC) is seeking to develop the Eastern Way Playing Field which would see a canal and marina built on the site. Part of the plans include 300 new homes, a new college, healthcare facilities and a replacement home for the Phoenix Centre.

It has been submitted to the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation which is now seeking comments from the public about the plans. WNDC will make the final decision due later this year.

DDC leader Chris Millar said: “These plans will make Daventry a great destination and make a positive difference to employment and local businesses.”

For more details on the plans and local reaction, see tomorrow’s (Thursday, May 19) Daventry Express.
