Water warning for Upper Boddington
Anglian Water have put out the warning and following a burst water main in the area.
Villagers have been urged to boil it then leave it to cool before using it for drinking, cooking, preparing food and brushing teeth until further notice. This advice also applies to drinking water for pets. However tap water can be used for washing, bathing and flushing toilets.
An Anglian Water spokesman said: “We have taken the decision to issue this advice as a precaution following a burst water main in the area, with sample results showing that the water may not be up to our usual high standard.
“You may notice a slight change to the smell of your tap water. This is because we are adding a small amount of extra chlorine to ensure the water remains at a high standard. This change is only temporary. The smell of chlorine will be reduced after boiling.
“We are working to make sure that the water is up to our normal high standard before advising you otherwise. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused but we insist that your health and safety must come first.”
