WALKERS are being invited to join a hike around villages in the region.
The Daventry Round is a 16-mile circuit which gives walkers an opportunity to enjoy the countryside and offerings at local pubs.
The route links with footpaths and bridleways and stops at seven local villages, including Badby, Norton and Welton.
The pathway was put together by Danetre School teacher Jim Davis, who is leading a walk around the route on Saturday, June 25.
He said: “I wanted a challenging but interesting walk, which people could start and finish at the same point, taking in local villages and pubs.”
The walk starts and finishes at The White Horse in Welton and is expected to finish around 5pm.
The walk itinerary is: 10am Welton; 10.30am Ashby St Ledgers; 11.30am Braunston; 1pm Staverton; 2pm Badby to Newnham with lunch at The Maltsters; 3.30pm leave Newnham; 4.30pm Norton; and then back to Welton.
Walkers can join in and leave at any stage of the route.
