Jo Payne, senior fundraising manager for Warwickshire, said: “People see the yellow helicopter and know what we do and we would ask that they give us a few hours of their time.

“We know how generous people are in Daventry, we would just ask them now for a bit of their time, people are good at giving their money but not their time.

“All we would ask is around two hours a month.”

Jo said community representatives are need to help organise community events, coffee mornings and stalls.

“I really believe that there are people out there that can help us with this,” added Jo.

She said more collectors are also needed to help the charity, which receives no Government funding.

“We need people who are relatively fit so that they can carry the tins and also have some IT skills so that they can do the banking and returns,” Jo added.

“We need people that can hit the ground running. I really believe that there are people out there who could help us. Women on maternity leave would be ideal candidates as it will help boost their confidence and get them involved in the community as well as people who are retired or have been made redundant.”

Each mission undertaken by the air ambulance costs £1,700 and the team average three to four missions a day.
