A COMMUNITY got together at the weekend to help spruce up a village hall.
Thirteen people gave up their time on Saturday to spend the day at the hall in Hellidon helping out with painting and decorating.
Chairman of the village hall management committee Doreen Hillier said: “It went extremely well and we managed to do one coat of the whole hall.
“We had a very good response and it was just great to see people in the community coming together to help.
“Everybody stayed for lunch and had a great day.
“The main reason we arranged this is because we are having a new kitchen installed, so we had to paint the walls before the floor can be put down.
“It was very encouraging that so many people wanted to help and we are very grateful for all the work they put in.”
