New playground equipment in a village has been officially opened by the chairman of Daventry District Council.

Cllr Catherine Lomax opened up the new equipment, which has cost £42,000, in Cold Ashby on Saturday, November 1.

Villagers joined together to raise the funds required to install the new equipment which includes swings and slides. Family and friends enjoyed refreshments and nibbles before heading out for the ribbon cutting ceremony while children enjoyed the new equipment.

Claire McElfatrick, one of the fundraisers, said: “There was lots of fun had by all
and the afternoon was rounded of with a special cake cutting.

“A big thank you again to all who have contributed and supported.”
