The Kilsby Neighbourhood Development Plan has been prepared by its Parish Council together with a steering group from the village.

Submitted to Daventry District Council (DDC) recently, it is the third such plan in Daventry District to reach this stage, after plans for West Haddon and Spratton.

DDC has launched a six-week consultation to allow people to comment on it. Those comments will then be passed to an independent examiner who will be appointed to inspect the plan.

People can view the plan and find out how to comment at www.daventrydc.gov.uk/kilsbyneighbourhoodplan

Alternatively, copies of the relevant documents are available at DDC’s Lodge Road offices and the Kilsby Post Office and Store, in Independent Street.

The consultation will close at 4.30pm on Friday, September 18.

Following the consultation and examination process, Kilsby residents will be asked in a referendum whether they support the Neighbourhood Development Plan. It must receive support from more than half of those voting for it to be ‘made’ and adopted by DDC.

If adopted it will form part of the wider development plan for Daventry District up to 2029 and will be used to help determine future planning applications in the Kilsby Neighbourhood Area.
