The fastest growing sport in the world came to Daventry at the weekend
The Vendetta Vixens, a Northampton-based roller derby league, held the British Championship Tier 4 Central South games at Daventry Leisure Centre.
They were delighted to welcome Mayor Wendy Randall to watch the fast paced double header with teams competing for the top spot in the division and a place at play-offs later in the season.
First up hosts Vendetta Vixens took on old friends HellsBelles RollerGirls - Hertfordshire Roller Derby in a good matchup which saw Vixens able to hold HellsBelles to the lowest point differential of any team they had faced this year, closing out the game at 154 points to their 267.
The following game saw Bedfordshire Rollergirls and Coventry City Derby Dolls face off in a super close game which CCDD ended 143 to BRG’s 117.
The division now looks forward to the final games in late October hosted by BRG as well as numerous divisional playoffs throughout the country as part of the British Championships - the largest flat track roller derby tournament outside the USA.
