Two men held on suspicion of attempted murder after shooting in Northamptonshire town

Two men from Rushden have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in the town at the weekend

An 18-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Monday, July 6) and a 22-year-old man was arrested this morning (Tuesday, July 7), in connection with the incident in Hayway on Sunday, July 6.

The victim was taken to hospital after being shot in the back at about 6am.

He was one of two men who were approached by two other men who threatened them with a gun. He was then shot in the back with the gun.

He was taken to University Hospital Coventry, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in police custody.
