Turbines could be blown out by cuts

DAVENTRY’S MP says a change in wind farm subsidies could be a ‘game-changer’ in the fight against turbines.

MP for Daventry Chris Heaton-Harris believes the Government could be set to cut subsidies to turbines – a move which would make building them in the Daventry area uneconomical.

He said: “The noises that I’ve been hearing is that the Treasury wants to reduce subsidies to wind farms by 25 per cent.

“I’ve been asking for a drastic cut in subsidies for on-shore wind for some time and this could be it.”
