An early-morning crash has closed two lanes on the M1 in Northamptonshire on Tuesday morning.

Highways England are warning drivers could face delays throughout the morning rush-hour on the southbound stretch between Watford Gap services and Junction 16.

The incident, which was first reported at around 5.30am, has closed the two outside lanes. Four-mile queues quickly built up and the traffic officers estimate it could take until nearly 9am for traffic to return to normal.
