Travel alert: 40-minute delays on M1 between Northampton and Milton Keynes

Highways England are warning of 40-minute delays on the M1 between Northampton and Milton Keynes on Thursday lunchtime.

A broken down vehicle has forced police to close two lanes on the southbound side.

Traffic is struggling to get past the scene and queues are forming back to Junction 15 from the scene just before Newport Pagnell services.

Highways England have warned it could take up to two hours for the queues to clear and are advising drivers heading towards Milton Keynes to seek alternative routes where possible.
