Traffic crawling on M1 in Northamptonshire heading into Tuesday morning rush-hour

Highways England jamcams showed queues on the M1 northbound before 7am as traffic officers dealt with a broken down lorry

Drivers are being warned to expect delays on the M1 norhbound in Northamptonshire during Tuesday morning's rush hour.

A broken down HGV closed one lane between Junction 16 and Junction 17 — the M45 turn-off before 7am.

Highways England traffic officers are on the scene but recovery is expected to take a while.

Traffic cameras showed queues building back towards Junction 15A.
