High winds from Storm Francis are causing trees and their branches to fall onto roads around Northamptonshire today (Tuesday, August 25).
A large bough blocked the northbound carriageway on the A508 near the junction for Courteenhall at around 3.45pm - police are still there but the road has been cleared.

Hide AdAt about 3pm, another tree fell onto the roundabout between A4256 Eastern Way, Braunston Road and Ashby Road - that was cleared by 3.50pm.
In Byfield, between Banbury and Daventry, a large tree had fallen onto a smaller tree but was blocking the A361 at around 3.25pm.
Meanwhile a tree was also blocking Welford Road in Chapel Brampton at around the same time but was cleared without police assistance.
