Lorry smash shuts three lanes on M1 southbound near Northampton

Highways England report three lanes are closed on the Northamptonshire stretch of the M1 following a crash on Monday morning.

The smash, which happened at around 9.30am, involved a lorry on the southbound side between Junction 17 where the M45 joins the motorway and Watford Gap Services.

A Highways England spokesman said: "Traffic officers and recovery are on their way to the area."
