Daventry roadworks likely to disrupt traffic and buses

MAJOR roadworks due to start on Thursday, December 1, in Daventry town centre are likely to disrupt drivers and bus users in the following days.

Northamptonshire County Council is carrying out a series of works including resurfacing, on stretches of road from Shakespeare Avenue on the Headlands estate, along Braunston Road, up The Hollows and into St James Street.

Road closures are expected on Thursday and Friday, but work is listed as possibly continuing until until Monday.

Closures will affect many motorists trying to get into and through the town, and could limit access to certain car parks, including the long stay at the old gas works.

Buses, including the D2, D3, 12 and 65 services will be hit, with some stops not being served.

The D2, D3 into town and possibly the 12 are likely to run along Clare Avenue, Eastern Way, Lodge Road, and up to the bus station.
