Crash causing tailbacks on M1 southbound in Northamptonshire

A crash is causing delays on the M1 southbound near Northampton.

Highways England report the crash is blocking part of the carriageway between Junction 16 and Junction 15A, close to Rothersthorpe services, at just after 9am.

Traffic cameras showed an ambulance on the scene with traffic being diverted away from lanes one and two and vehicles struggling to exit the services via the slip road.

Queues are stretching back four miles towards Junction 16.
