Two people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash on the A5 is closed in Northamptonshire this afternoon (Wednesday, July 8).

The driver and a passenger in one of the vehicles were taken to hospital as a precaution following the incident near Station Road, Watford, at around 2.30pm.

The main road remains shut with the fire service after oil leaked from one of the vehicles.

The incident is causing long queues with extra traffic coming from the emergency double lane closure on the M1 for pothole repairs.
