A PETITION is being circulated among shops and businesses in Daventry to help save the town’s ambulance station from closure.
Daventry District Councillor Wendy Randall has launched the petition after East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) announ-ced plans last month to shut several Northamptonshire ambulance stations in a bid to cut costs and improve response times.
Cllr Randall said: “Some people I’ve spoken to don’t even realise the ambulance station might close, but as soon as I speak to them they are signing the petition and saying how terrible it is.
“This petition is for the whole district because this affects everyone. This is such an important service and I would urge everyone to sign the petition.”
The petition is available to sign in the Gusher offices in Daventry High Street.
