It is being run by Kirsty Fish, a designer from Upper Boddington who runs the Love PaperFish company.

She said: “This is an opportunity for anyone who is into crafts to come along, have a coffee, come and sit down with us in the basement and share their enjoyment of crafts.

“People are welcome to bring along their own knitting or crochet that they are making in their own time and share their ideas.”

She was also keen to set up something to help out women who enjoy crafting.

Kirsty added: “I think a lot of women tend to lead very isolated lives. They are on the school run, or at home or working part time.

“This is a hobby which a lot of women enjoy, some men, but a lot of women, and something that tends to be done on their own. I think it doesn’t have to be.

“It’s something you can bring along, have a chat about and share ideas which is something I enjoy doing.

“This was something that happened to me because when I had my daughter five years ago, I was looking for something to do and it worked.”

In the run up to Christmas the cafe will be showcasing a range of Love PaperFish products in the gallery including a collection of handmade Christmas decorations and Gingerbread Dollies.

The cafe’s owner Simon Williams said: “This is exactly the kind of thing I have been wanting to encourage and get the cellar used by groups in the local area.

“Kirsty came to us with this idea and I think it was a great one, so we were more than happy to run it.”

For anyone wanting more details, they can contact the cafe on 01327 878117 or pop in on a Wednesday afternoon.
